Saint Katherine’s Philoptochos Society
Saint Katherine’s Philoptochos Society, Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Columbia South
Carolina, is a chapter of the Greek Ladies Philoptochos Society headquartered in New York City, NYC. The Greek Orthodox Ladies Philoptochos Society, Inc., is the duly accredited women’s philanthropic society of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America.
The mission of the Philoptochos is to promote charitable, benevolent and philanthropic outreach to preserve the sanctity of life and family and to perpetuate and promote our Orthodox faith and traditions.
The St. Katherine’s Philoptochos Society is a wonderful dedicated group of women who are members of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church of Columbia, SC. We work throughout the year to help those in need on a local and national level. We do so by hosting luncheons, taking up collections, and sponsoring a bake sale/luncheon in the spring. We are very fortunate to be in a generous community that supports our endeavors. Please peruse through our website at stkatherinesphiloptochos.org to learn more about us.

Hellenic Community Fund
The Hellenic Community Fund (HCF) was established to provide assistance on a one-time basis to those families or individuals who have encountered an emergency financial problem. This assistance is available to residents of the greater Columbia area as well as to our own parishioners.
The HCF has several sources of funding: an annual appeal to our parishioners, a contribution from St. Katherine’s Philoptochos chapter, tip jars from the annual Greek Festival as well as memorials for families and friends.
Those who are in need may contact the church office and the office forwards their names and phone numbers to the committee. Complete discretion is exercised and the name, request and amount, if any, are never disclosed to anyone outside the committee. Our records are audited every two years by a private accounting firm so that complete transparency is guaranteed.
Call the Holy Trinity Orthodox Cathedral Office at 803.252.6758 ext. 0 to leave a confidential message with the church secretary.
